Providence Health & Services Student Pharmacy Technician in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Student Pharmacy Technician ( Pharmacy Dept, Variable Shift, 1 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. The successful candidate:

Maintains confidentiality and patient information.
Maintains the laminar flow hoods and the working area in an aseptically clean condition.
Practices effective infection control procedures, including preventing transmission of blood borne and airborne diseases.
Prepares non-hazardous and hazardous IV sterile products.
Properly disposes of all materials used when mixing chemotherapy or non-chemotherapy IVs.
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Assist pharmacists in collecting, organizing, and recording demographic and clinical information for direct patient care and medication-use review.
Assist pharmacists in preparing, storing and distributing medication products requiring special handling and documentation (ie. Immunizations, chemotherapy, and investigational drugs).
Verifies measurements, preparation, and/or packaging of medications produced by healthcare professionals.
Compounds and fills medical prescriptions as ordered.
Receives and restocks medications.
Obtains, verifies, and documents patient information into the pharmacy outpatient system.
Obtains proper insurance authorization.
Processes claim, reverse claims and responds to rejected claims.
Receives and screens prescriptions/medication orders for completeness, accuracy, and authenticity.
Performs non-clinical outpatient data entry functions in the pharmacy information system (as applicable).
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED From an accredited educational institution.
Knowledge of basic mathematics.
Knowledge of general office skills such as typing, filing and record keeping.
Knowledge of computer operation.
Knowledge of oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Pharmacy Technician in Training Licensure required within 60 days from date of hire into the position.
