Providence RN Clinical Outreach Educator - Outreach/Telehealth in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Outreach Educator (Management Services - Outreach/Telehealth, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE Exempt) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Be responsible for providing comprehensive follow-up on designated patients that are is transferred into our regional facilities for care
Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of all specialty services, i.e. trauma, cardiac, neuro patients, and knowledge of other specialty services, as well as transfer system abilities/procedures and case management principles
Act as the Montana contact for CME (Continuing Medical Education) and actively participate in quality improvement at Providence. St. Patrick Hospital and in partnership with CAH (i.e. STEMI and stroke), offering education regarding patient care, protocols and processes for internal caregivers as well as outlying hospitals
Work with the Outreach and Telehealth Manager to manage daily operations of the Telehealth program.
Serve as the implementation coordinator/telepresenter trainer for Providence Montana supporting quality improvement opportunities for patients receiving services through the program
Act as a resource person to maintain educational materials and professional literature
Develop continuing nursing education for SPH in conjunction with other SPH Educators
Assist with the development of nursing peer review for outreach organizations as requested
Facilitate the communication of clinical information to other health care professionals for continuity of care
Maintain appropriate and timely communication with Vice Presidents, Directors, Managers and Staff
Maintain awareness of age-appropriate resources for patient support
Develop and teach three to four outreach modules/year for nurses and clinical staff in outreach organizations
Provide ACLS, BLS for HCP, and PALS to outreach organizations annually as needed/contracted
Conduct education assessments and coordinate training based on input from outreach organizations
Base educational offering on defined knowledge or evidence-based research
Demonstrate an awareness and relevance of research in nursing
Evaluate practices to identify area for improvement or opportunities for research
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current licensure in the State of Montana as a Registered Nurse
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire
3 years nursing experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in nursing (MSN)
Certified instructor for American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS
Recent acute care, ICU, or ED nursing experience
Experience in Clinical Education
