Providence Health & Services Registered Catheterization Technologist in Missoula, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling a Registered Catherization Technologist (Cardiac Cath Lab, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE, Rotating Call Required) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Utilize the interdepartmental network for entering and retrieving patient data and analysis information

  • Functionally operate all radiographic and physiologic equipment. Develops trouble shooting techniques

  • Maintain an adequate supply of instruments and supplies in each room to meet patients changing needs

  • Maintain awareness of age-appropriate resources for patient support

  • Maintain work areas in orderly and replenished state where inventory, equipment and records are utilized Performs other work as required

  • Perform calculations relating to physiologic data Completes all appropriate paperwork as per established practices

  • Process films/disks and maintains quality control to assure proper film density, identification and splicing requirements

  • Readily attend to patient’s emotional and physical needs including comfort and safety requirements

  • Respond to on-call situations for cardiac and other vascular procedures in a professional manner

  • Scrub in and assists physicians demonstrating well developed anticipation skills and a good working knowledge of correct views of heart and major vessels

  • Work with other Cath Lab members gathering all necessary equipment and supplies to meet patient and physician needs

  • Report and documents any unusual patient or administrative occurrence that may have an effect on the patient’s and/or staff’s well being

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Program resulting in registry eligibility

  • Associate's Degree in Radiology Technologist

  • Either National Registry or Registry eligible as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (CCI) or Registered Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in good standing that is licensed with the Montana Board of Radiologic Technologists

  • If Registry eligible, must obtain registry within 6 months of employment

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider),

  • American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or

  • Military Training Network (MTN) – (Healthcare Provider) upon hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 1 year of catheterization laboratory experience
