Providence Health & Services Provider Enrollment, Onboarding, and Credentialing Specialist in Missoula, Montana

Description:

Providence is calling a Provider Enrollment, Onboarding and Credentialing Specialist ( Medical Staff Services , Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Responsibilities of this role are to successfully navigate through the “167-Point Onboarding Process” that includes, but not limited to: Credentialing with delegated payers. Credentialing, re-credentialing and ongoing validation with non-delegated payers. Government program enrollment and ongoing validation. Hospital medical staff membership and privileging.

  • Coordinate with PMG Operations to ensure that PMG Operations has completed all preparations have been scheduled and completed for the physician to begin in the clinic (schedule, office space, staff, etc).

  • Initiate credentialing and privileging packets, obtain all physician information and signatures and submit packets for: Hospital medical staff membership and privileges to Medical Staff Services. PMG Delegated Credentialing for delegated credentialing approval. Non-delegated payers for approval. Government Enrollment department for applications to government programs.

  • Coordinate all regional/system department processes to ensure that physician/provider is completely credentialed/enrolled with all payers prior to the date of hire.

  • Ensures the coordination of professional services to provider and family, including, but not limited to: Travel. Recruiting site visits. City tours and services. Relocation services. Real estate services.

  • Responsible for coordinating with internal stakeholders to establish goals for onboarding programs.

  • Works creatively with other departments to assess appropriate provider onboarding content and delivery.

  • Coordinates and manages the provider onboarding and acquisition SharePoint site for the regional market and participates on the bi-weekly onboarding coordination conference calls.

  • Coordinates and shares best practices and standards to support the other various onboarding programs.

  • Communicates needed infrastructure and resources to support onboarding and off-boarding programs.

  • Professional communication, interactions and support offered to new PMG and Regional Market employed providers.

  • Facilitates meetings with clinic leadership team to ensure onboarding meets the needs of new providers and the local clinic.

  • Maintains knowledge of the overall PMG & Providence Health System organizational structure and conveys this to the new providers during onboarding process.

  • Coordinates notification of non-delegated payers and government programs of provider departure.

  • 95% of all new-hire physicians (including those as part of clinic acquisitions and newly recruited employed PMG providers) must be 100% credentialed/enrolled by all payers prior to date of hire.

  • Onboarding Coordinator must be rated in top quartile based on physician onboarding satisfaction survey for each year.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2 years healthcare experience working with physicians in a clinic or hospital setting

  • Strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of health care environment, medical office policies and procedures.

  • Basic human resource management practices.

  • Knowledge of payer contracts & credentialing.

  • Strong written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to identify and solve problems, make decisions, and recommend changes.

  • Ability to establish priorities, organize, coordinate work activities and solve problems

  • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to travel between multiple locations

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • 2 years experience with provider credentialing.
