Providence Health & Services Pre-Authorization Specialist *1 FTE, Day Shift* in Missoula, Montana
Providence is calling a Pre-Authorization Specialist (Pain and Spine, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Medical Group Montana in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:
Demonstrates values/service excellence. Employee’s actions evidence the values and mission of Providence Medical Group.
Demonstrates knowledge of EPIC software initiating authorizations/referral and ensuring approval/denial and communicating decision back to the physician office.
Demonstrates accurate and proficient use of computer technology.
Obtains third party liability information.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Accepts objective suggestions for improved performance.
Handles conflicts and concerns. Seeks resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Communicates information to appropriate person(s) accurately and timely.
Assures that inter/intra departmental documentation is recorded, distributed and filed accurately and timely.
Attends unit staff meetings (80%).
Utilizes computer technology as required by department.
Takes ownership and accountability for meeting defined expectation and ongoing development.
Employee completes all tasks and duties accurately and timely within assigned shift. Demonstrates initiative to perform job duties autonomously.
Attends mandatory and other education offerings per department and hospital requirements. May assist with education on the unit.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or GED
Associate's Degree in Business, Billing or Coding
2 years experience in healthcare setting
Experience using technology
